TRACFIN - Financial Intelligence Processing and Action against Underground Financial Circuits

As certain real estate transactions can be exploited for money laundering, the real estate sector is also subject to the obligation to report to TRACFIN. Since December 3, 2016, all real estate agents holding a “real estate and business transaction” card are required to report to TRACFIN for their activities related to rental transactions.

TRACFIN is an administrative service for financial intelligence processing that contributes to the development of a healthy economy by combating underground financial circuits, money laundering, and terrorism financing. It is under the dual supervision of the Minister of Economy and the Minister of Budget (TRACFIN – 10 rue Auguste Blanqui – 93186 MONTREUIL SOUS BOIS Cedex – Tel 01 57 53 27 00).

In this capacity, Janssens Immobilier naturally commits to paying special attention to the various provisions required by TRACFIN and must hold information about its seller and buyer clients, including identity documents, proof of residence, proof of ownership, and, in the case of a legal entity, the company’s statutes and Kbis, as well as the complete civil status of the manager(s) with identity documents and proof of residence.
